My academic major is Psychology with a concentration in Clinical. As a freshman, I struggled to balance both soccer and my school work. I often found myself cramming the night before or forgetting small homework assignments because I did not prepare properly. I had a tough time finding a group of friends who supported me and ensured I was on track. However, my second semester I started to become closer with the girls on the team...Julia, Sara, Amanda, Lauren, and Jessie. My grades started to improve, as well as my personal confidence, and outlook on Wesley College. In short, I found that being around my teammates was a positive influence. This is because we had the similar schedules, goals, and values both athletically and academically. I am doing much better now and I am a Junior working hard to graduate next spring.
How do you feel about this past season and getting back to the CAC playoffs?
Amaaazinng! Playoffs are what every athlete lives for...it is a game where a team’s record is completely erased and left up to the team’s heart and determination. I knew our team had this after our game against Marymount. This is because in the last 15 minutes of the game we pulled together and encouraged one another not to give up. We knew we were not coming off that field without a win and proved it by scoring 2 goals to end the game.
What are your thoughts about your upcoming senior season?
I am excited for my upcoming senior season because our team will be more comfortable with each other on and off the field. This year I am happy we have a lot more girls who are focused on working hard and keeping a good attitude on improving our team. However, I am upset that my four years are coming to an end…as for now I'm focused on how I can make my senior year our best year.
Who is your favorite soccer player in the world?
Diego Maradona is my favorite soccer player because his dance moves before games are almost as good as his soccer skills.
Why did you choose to attend Wesley College?
I chose Wesley College because I really liked Coach. After, one of my games I was introduced to Coach Muntz and our first conversation was about corn bread...Haha...after which my Mom and I looked further into the school and really trusted that I would be in good setting to succeed at Wesley College.
What's in your IPOD right now?
Backstreet Boys, in hopes to form a new boy band.
When and Why did you start playing soccer?
My parents signed me up for soccer at the age of 10 to keep me busy and out of trouble.
What club team did you play for prior to attending Wesley?
South Jersey Banshees …”Left hand in” represent.
This will actually be my second time going to England and Scotland. I went with my club team in ’05. With that said, I consider myself very lucky to have the opportunity to go for a second time because some of my favorite memories are from that trip. P.S. THANKS MOM!
What do you love about Wesley Soccer?
The Wolf Pack…what’s not to love? Haha
What inspirational quote means the most to you?
I hated every minute of training, but I said, "Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion."
