Gina Orrben (Hockessin, Del./A.I. DuPont) and
Katie Chiolan (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro) of the Wesley College women's soccer team were named the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA) Scholar All-East Region Team.
Orrben and Chiolan were two of seven CAC players named to the NSCAA Scholar All-East team. Wesley was one of just three conference schools represented on the squad. They are also the first Wolverines in program history to earn the distinction.
Orrben, who was also named to the All-Capital Athletic Conference second team, was chosen to the Scholar All-East Third Team. A nursing major with a 3.50 grade point average, led Wesley with eight goals, six assists and 22 points. She finished third in the CAC in assists, eighth in points and tied for eighth in goals. She finished her career fifth all-time at Wesley with 56 points and 23 goals. Her 10 career assists are tied for ninth in the Wolverine record book.
Chiolan, who won Wesley's Departmental Award as the top History Student at Wesley last year, was chosen as an honorable mention and is a 3.90 student. She had a stellar game against Notre Dame (Md.) this fall, scoring four goals and assisting on two others for 10 points. For the season, she was second on the team to Orrben with six goals scored.
Go Wolverines!
